Baked Buttermilk Doughnuts

3 cups of flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1 package of active yeast
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
6 tbsp melted butter
1 egg
1 cup of buttermilk
For the topping
1 cup of sugar
1 - 2 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup of melted butter

combine the flour, sugar,yeast, salt, and nutmeg
mix in the egg and buttermilk
gradually pour in the melted butter
knead with the dough hook until you have a smooth ball
{about 5 minutes}
cover and let rise for about an hour
{the dough will NOT double in size}
on a lightly floured surface roll out the dough
{about 1/4 inch}
cut into doughnuts
place the doughnuts on a parchment lined baking sheet
{you should have 12 doughnuts and the holes}
cover and let rise for 30 - 45 minutes

bake @350 for 12 minutes
while they are baking melt the 1/2 cup of butter
combine the cup of sugar with the cinnamon
once the doughnust are cool enough to handle,dip them in the butter, and then roll in the cinnamon
