Fried Cauliflower

1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 pinch baking powder
1 tsp paprika
1 cup beer
1 egg -- beaten
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 packages frozen cauliflower -- thawed (10 oz.)
Additional vegetable oil
Grated Parmesan cheese -- (optional)

Combine first 4 ingredients; mix well. Add beer, egg, and 2 tbls. oil; stir until smooth. Dip cauliflower into batter; fry in deep hot oil (375F) until golden. Drain well. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
